In 5 simple steps:
- Store in a dry pail. Our diaper covers can be washed together with your cloth diapers.
- Optionally run a cold rinse cycle without detergent (occasionally add ½ cp vinegar during this cycle)
- Follow with a wash/rinse cycle on hot/cold. Use only ¼ to ½ the detergent's recommended amount, just enough to clean the diapers but not too much to cause buildup on the fabric.
- Occasionally follow with another rinse cycle.
- Tumble dry low. Note that drying in the sun will naturally bleach out most stains.
Tips
- For extra cleaning power, add baking soda to wash cycles and follow with vinegar in the rinse cycle. Do not use baking soda without vinegar in the follow-up rinse!
- To neutralize odors in the dry pail, store baking soda at the bottom of the pail. Optionally use a few drops of essential oil such as tea tree.
General dos and don'ts
- Do not soak diaper covers or store in a wet pail which will ruin the waterproof fabric.
- Do use regular detergent. We recommend Tide Free and Allens Naturally
- Do not use fabric softeners nor bleach
