How to Make Beeswax Chips

The quality beeswax I get typically comes in big chunks. Most of the time and especially when I’m making skin care, I only need a small amount. If you’ve ever tried to cut off a tiny section, you’ll know how tough it is to work with a chunk of beeswax. So, the first thing I do is turn my hunk of beeswax into chips:

  • Melt beeswax in a double boiler. Here, I used a smaller saucepan that sits on top of a round cookie cutter inside a larger saucepan filled with water.
  • Pour the melted beeswax on an aluminum foil lined cookie sheet.
  • When the mixture has cooled but is still malleable, peel off the foil and break or tear the beeswax into pieces.
